Description

This speech was given by Corinne Roosevelt Robinson, the sister of President Theodore Roosevelt, in support of the Republican ticket of Senator William Harding and Governor Calvin Coolidge, men she considered to be, "100 percent American, of true patriotism, who have not failed to show marked efficiency and ability in public office." Like her brother, she believed Harding and Coolidge would put America's priorities first and would restore America's prestige after the embarrassment of the Senate's refusal to approve America's membership in the League of Nations, a global organization that President Woodrow Wilson had championed.
