Description

This petition, created by residents of Marion, Iowa, was addressed to the U.S. Congress, after the Indian Removal Act was enacted. Members of the Sac and Fox Nation had returned to Iowa after being removed to Indian Territory when the Indian Removal Act was passed in 1830. The residents of Marion are asking Congress to allow the Sac and Fox to stay in Iowa.
