  • Documents, ephemera, publications, and news clippings related to the Iowa peace movement and 1968 Democratic state convention, compiled by activist Andrew R. Seager during his time as a visiting lecturer in architecture at Iowa State University. While not a Quaker himself, Seager was a member of the American Friends Service Committee, and supported the objectives of the Iowa Political Action Council for Peace (Iowa PAX). He authored articles about the draft and conscientious objection for the Iowa Peace Bulletin, and represented presidential candidate Eugene McCarthy as a delegate to the Democratic state convention. The materials in this collection--which also include a typescript of Seager's account of his activities--are described in more detail in the container list attached to this catalog record.
