Scope:
  • Photography taken and collected by John Uthoff of Iowa City, Iowa, while serving as an Entertainment Specialist 03B with the U.S. Army Special Services during the Vietnam War. Views show Special Services officers, troops, and visiting United Service Organizations (USO) personnel at camps at An Khe and Cam Ranh Bay in South Vietnam, as well as performances staged by the USO for which Uthoff provided lighting and sound technical support. Uthoff, who is shown in photo PH2018.4.4 in the sampling of images presented in this catalog record, received a Master of Fine Arts in theatrical design from the University of Iowa in 1974.
