  • Wall Plaque. (Not from the time capsule) Dates 1941 and 1945 across top plus names of Norman Mandelbaum, Julia Oliver and Lawrence Evans are names with stars, approximately 200 additional names of employees from Younkers who served in World War II.

    Norman Mandelbaum was killed over Germany flying a B-17 as a pilot in 1944. Lawrence Evans served in in the infantry and was killed in Belgium in 1945. Oliver's service record is not known. (11/23/2015)

    Probably brass, a "Roll of Honor" listing the many Younkers employees who served in World War II. At top a figure of an open-winged eagle. Foliage-pattern border. Rectangular with rounded top. A hole in each corner for screws or bolts for affixing to wall. Discolorations with silver-colored repair work on the right side and corners. 40 x 30.5".
