    Prisoner of Vietnam War bracelet worn by Governor Robert Ray as a reminder that our servicemen had been prisoners of war and missing in action since 1965. Lt. Spencer was Iowa's first prisoner of war, captured February 18, 1966. He was held as a prisoner until Operation Homecoming and was released February 12, 1973. Bracelets of this type were worn by people all over the United States. Governor Ray gave the bracelet to Myra Spencer, Larry's mother, when Lt. Spencer returned to Earlham on March 13, 1973.
