Biographical/Historical note:
  • Robert W. McKnight of Burlington, Iowa held the rank of Lieutenant while serving as a Class One officer for the 561st General Support Co. (4th Division) in Vietnam. He served in Vietnam for one year, spending nine months at Pleiku and three months at Dak To. At Pleiku he was responsible for controlling and moving food and merchandise in support of the 4th Division and all other units in the area. At Dak To he also handled grave registrations and soldiers' death certifications and coordinated the return of bodies to the United States.
